photoblog image Quarry Lake

Quarry Lake

Here we are at an old granite quarry which had a great clear pool with some old machinery in, the model was sorting her hair and contemplating the (cold!) temperature of the water and I snapped this one, works well in sepia in the setting I think.

I think that you are guessed right. Since I have said to you in other occasions, the naked one in the nature I like much!
Like the tone of this picture alot. Well done.

Don't see any ropes on the granite smile
The setting remind me of early Igor Amelkovich works.

The natural light is a bit tricky. It seems her shoulder, face and the top of the leg is overexposed. Don't you think?

Mark Varley: No ropes today smile
Natural light is always tricky, I tend to make the most of what is there and rarely use reflectors and such to fill. In this setting the light was mostly coming from right overhead which very slightly overexposed the face, shoulder and leg but I liked the contrast that gave to the dark background on the left leaving more gentle contrasts as your eye progresses towards the right of the image.
Thank you VZ.
